Josh is a North Carolina native originally from the Concord area. At Ritch’s Personal Training Josh not only does one on one personal training and group classes but also works with young athletes for tumbling and flexibility. So you may ask yourself, "Why come and train with Josh?"
Josh understands the determination it takes to achieve a fitness goal. In 2002 he was named the Open Middleweight Champion for Metrolina’s NPC Bodybuilding Competition in North Carolina. While preparing for this competition he trained with professional bodybuilders and along with a vigorous exercise regimen and strict diet he was able to achieve his goal.

In 2007, Josh began training in BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) and is currently a 1 stripe blue belt. Josh himself trains Crossfit and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Forged Fitness. Josh is also one of the best tumbling instructors in NC. He started his career in 1980 and worked his way up to be an elite level gymnast. This part of his life included training at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado which later lead to Josh becoming the #1 Male Gymnast in the Southeastern United States. Josh understands not only gymnastics, but also the technicalities of cheerleading. In 2002 Josh opened his first gym, Elite Cheer and Tumble, in Concord, North Carolina. At this facility he was able to coach gymnasts, cheerleaders and fitness competitors into achieving their goals. This included not only tumbling skills up to the highest level, but also helping with flexibility and conditioning. Josh believes that a conditioned athlete is the healthiest one and he is happy to report that in his gyms entire operation there was never a serious injury. Josh continues today to work with cheerleaders/tumblers from some of your major cheer gyms from around NC as he travels the state to do private lessons and tumbling clinics.
In 2009 Josh was married to Courtney and they decided as a family to move to Wendell, North Carolina. Together they sold Elite Cheer and Tumble and have decided to open Ritch’s Personal Training. Here Josh can combine all of his personal training talents to work with every age groups who wants to lose weight, gain muscle, or just fit in their clothes better. Josh will never be able to say goodbye to tumbling so he will still be working with those interested in standing tumbling and increasing strength and flexibility. Josh is now certified with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and is the owner and operator of Ritch’s Personal Training

Courtney is a Zebulon native with a love for group fitness. Courtney grew up with a passion for dance and later in life fell into cheerleading, both school and all star. While in high school she earned a scholarship along with second place in an invitational dance competition given by the All American Cheer and Dance Association in Hawaii. While in college Courtney was a dance instructor for acrobatics, jazz and hip hop. Once engaged to Josh, Courtney worked with Josh at Elite Cheer and Tumble coaching all star cheerleading, recreational cheerleading and dance.
In 2010 Courtney and Josh welcomed there son Phoenix into the world, so she understands "the working mom" and the struggles with getting back to pre-baby weight. Courtney is currently a Dental Hygienist at an office in Raleigh and teaches group fitness classes at Ritch’s Personal Training. With her years of experience in dance and instruction she is a great motivator in group fitness settings. Courtney's upbeat music choices and creativity help with the plateau that many people face when exercising. In August 2011 Courtney became a certificated Zumba instructor.
